Peru is famous for their beans. Some of the oldest cacao trees in the world are found in the hidden regions of Peru. There are those who believe that the origin of today's fine flavor cocoa come directly from the Marañón River region and the true Nacional trees found there. We source our beans from this region from those on the ground who can guarantee a fair relationship with the farmer and one that benefits all parties involved. While it may come at a higher cost to the consumer, the final product is well worth the small increase to help ensure that this hard to find chocolate will continue to be available for the future.
